Service 04 · Engineering consulting
Tech due diligence, audits, CTO advisory.
For investors evaluating a target, and for companies that already have an engineering team. Honest, fast, no obligation to then build with us.
What's included
What the service consists of.
01
Technical due diligence
Codebase quality, architecture, team, security, scaling risk. Reported in a format your IC will actually read.
02
Architecture review
Current state, scaling chokepoints, build-vs-buy calls, recommended 12–24 month roadmap with cost.
03
Stack & vendor selection
When 'just use Postgres' is right vs when ClickHouse / Snowflake / Pinecone is justified. With numbers.
04
Fractional CTO advisory
Monthly cadence: hiring, architecture decisions, escalation, vendor evaluation. For founders without a senior engineering leader yet.
05
Engineering team review
Org structure, hiring plan, comp benchmarks, on-call practice, performance management.
06
Post-mortem facilitation
Blameless retros for big incidents, with concrete action items and ownership.
How we work
Five steps.
01
Scope
What we're assessing, what questions need answers, who reads the report. Locked before we start.
02
Data collection
Team interviews, repo/infra access, architecture and process review. 1–2 weeks.
03
Analysis
Benchmarked against your size and stage. Not 'like Google' — like real Series A/B companies.
04
Report + walkthrough
Written report + live walkthrough for the team and leadership. With priorities and timelines.
05
Implementation support
Optional 2–3 months while you act on the recommendations. Billed hourly.
